Slapped by his Mom
March 1, 2026
-Told you so.
-The one saving grace: A large amount of MAGA X is coming out against this, quite unlike the June Iran debacle and Maduro earlier. I’m not convinced it’ll mean anything, though.
-No, I don’t predict there will be military action over Greenland. Venezuela and Iran are “the baddies.” Donald Trump his signaling his alignment with the US alliance status quo, not a defiance of it.
-In 2016, DC establishment neocons threw the fit of a century because, for the first time since World War II, America had elected a President that they did not believe they could control. In 2026, DC establishment neocons now have their perfect man and stooge as President, Donald Trump. So, what exactly happened in the interim? Many people will be debating this. I do think the central story here is what happened following October 7, 2023. Before that date, the establishment did not trust Donald Trump, so they buttered up and did favors for the Democrats. After that date, there were massive and raucous protests by the populist left in opposition to the Israeli government. Due to this, DC establishment no longer trusted the Democrats, so they buttered up and did favors for Donald Trump instead. And it completely worked for them.
-Not only are the DC establishment heartless warpigs, they’re just complete morons. All of this could have been avoided had they just sucked up to Donald Trump, a man who famously loves suck-ups, from the start, back in 2016. Instead, they tried their hardest to subvert democracy, which nearly broke the country. And now, they get what they want, simply by finally doing what they obviously (like, EXTREMELY OBVIOUSLY) should have been doing from the very start?
-The Washington DC foreign policy apparatus is literally run by the least intelligent people on the planet.
-From a historic, storytelling perspective, even when it comes to horrific catastrophes in history, it is at least possible to tell coherent narratives. 500 years from now, when people are told the history of the most powerful country on the planet 2016-2026, this is what they will be told: “America’s elites nearly broke the country in subverting a duly elected president, who they did not trust. After years of this, they eventually tried sucking up to him, something this president clearly always liked, and immediately got exactly what they always wanted and then some, something they could have easily gotten effortlessly from day one.” And, like, what? How is that in any way coherent? THAT’S LITERALLY THE STORY. How do you come to any other conclusion beyond think that these are all the stupidest, empty people on the planet?
-The few MAGA defenders of this action are pointing out that “there are no American boots on the ground” and “there are no American casualties.” Yet. Someone should remind them that there weren’t American boots on the ground nor were there any Americans that were killed during the actual military operation that led to Muammar Gaddafi’s fall in Libya in 2011. Didn’t make it any less horrific.
-This “biblical earthquake” headline that social media is running with really isn’t the slam dunk that people think it is. A skeptic would simply claim that Matthew worked a real-life earthquake into a fictitious story. Also, I am skeptical that seismology even can be successful in determining precisely dates of millennia old earthquakes. Belief in Jesus Christ will always be founded on faith, not by sight, just as the scriptures say.
-I’m happy that Regina Tarin amd Ailin Perez won. I’m unhappy that Rhea Ripley did.
-In 2026, the WWE and AEW rosters are filled to the brim with amazing, talented, hard-working women. And then there’s Raquel Rodriguez, glaringly standing out like a sore thumb since day one.
-I saw a young man wearing a suit get slapped by his mom at a table at a convenience store today.
-12 PM: No notifications on my phone about personal things. Which makes me quite anxious. No news, of course, is bad news.
-Went to (cut)’s Pentecostal church today. I don’t know how to feel. I felt welcomed. The energy and the (cut) praying was quite impressive. However, it sort of feels like they kind of view God as like a vending machine: Put in effort and get a blessing out. At the end, a Korean man went up in front of the group and spent like twenty minutes bragging about his resume. I’m not sure the name of Jesus Christ was ever uttered a single time.
-(cut)’s text to me.
-If Trump’s poll numbers with Hispanics drop again, the Cuban government’s toast.
-Why the Iran strike happened: It all comes down to the fact that the Trump administration and the Republicans are completely unworried. Electorally, they’re in a great position in 2028. Most of the Republican base will go along with whatever King Trump says in the long run, and the few that don’t will get shouted down with social media pile-ons. The Democratic establishment likes the move, and the Democrats are weak enough that the Republicans can do things like these without any setback. That’s all it comes down to. There is no antiwar movement in this country. There can be a huge period of chaos in Iran as a consequence of this, but so long as it is out of the news by the end of 2027, no one makes a vote in the 2028 based on the state of Iran.
-4:40 PM: A middle aged man, sitting next to me on the subway, has been weeping for a while.
-Steve Turley has a recent video laying out the case why Trump and the Republicans are in an incredible electoral position in the moment. It’s so incredibly frustrating, because he’s just so obviously right.
-It’s all so incredibly bleak.
-On the streets of Seoul, I saw two young women cycling down the street on bicycles. I would do anything to stay in this country.
-8:30 PM: Back at (cut). Reached out to tons of people, tons of institutions, since Thursday. Virtually no one has responded. It’s been very difficult on me.
-I just know it: That wonderful (cut) job has already chosen not to hire me. They’re not even going to tell me this, leaving me in a wretched state of increasing despair over the next week. I just know that that’s how this is going to happen.
-Wild Rift cheered me up, at least, I think.
-That wonderful message from (cut).
