42 Days Until Probation Ends

-Woke up with throat problems.

-I’m still reading The Lord of the Rings, slowly but surely. It seems glaringly obvious to me now that The Ring is an *allegory* from Whig bourgeois commercial wealth, what with its ability to produce both pleasure and war. Seems like the exact type of moralizing that would appeal to an Old Tory monarchist Catholic like J. R. R. Tolkien, well enough.

-You guys need to read Johan Norberg

-Wrestling: Lizzy Rain vs Nikkita Lyons. She’s wrestling her first match in NXT like she’s on a pay-per-view marquee. I hope they never tell her to stop doing that.

-I ate Subway, for the first time in Korea. That was awesome.

-The YouTube video “The online freak industrial complex” by J.J. McCullough.

-So, once upon a time, there was a person named Sniper Wolf, who is not a video game character, but instead a YouTube personality, I think? She was very popular, but then she did an awful thing called “doxxing,” and got away with it, because she was so popular? And then a bunch of people online were very angry, and complained that she did this awful thing, and got away with it, because she was so popular? And then, right after that, no one ever heard about Sniper Wolf ever again. Do I have that right?

-Loud bird noises on my walk to work today. I rarely ever heard bird noises in empty boring (cut), and I live in a city now.

-(cut) said she was signing me up for more training, which may mean that I can actually survive here at (cut) long term. That’s a good thing, right?

-Invited to a kind of church meeting here in (cut) on Friday, my day off, which actually sounds fun.

-James Comey, indicted again. James Comey is a scoundrel, and the FBI actually was quite corrupt under him when dealing with Donald Trump. But Donald Trump isn’t actually doing this to reform a corrupt FBI, but only part of his dumb slap fight retribution wars. Even when Donald Trump manages to be right, Donald Trump manages to be wrong.

-One class of mine was once a class of four students. But, since last week, one student quit the program, and two were unable to show up today. So, today was a first for me: A two and a half hour class that I taught, for literally one student? Awkward?

-At first, I kind of panicked. The students in that particular Wednesday evening class sped through the material rapidly last week, and I had to scramble quickly to get more material for them to do back then. How much more quickly will everything pass by, with literally one student? I quickly worked to prepare a whole bunch of back-up assignments: Writing assignments and internet research projects.

-It ended up not being necessary. Things went surprisingly slow and smooth and chill. That’s a relief.

-The material that I teach every day here is actually kind of interesting, and I learn things myself even when teaching it. I imagine that my dream job by now would be a kind of “Christian” version of this. Imagine: This sort of material: About Bible passages, about church history, biographies, etc… I would love that sort of thing, personally. It wouldn’t be that hard now to have AI make it myself, honestly.

-I had put up a drawing of a student named “(cut)” on the wall the other day. Only today did I realize how she drew these adorable little faces on the C’s in her name.

-I asked (cut) if she wanted to go to church with me. She said yes. She is free, next month.

-10:10 PM: I made it through another work day with no complaint! Wooo!

-10:20 PM: It hit me, again. I live in Korea! How fucking cool is that! I live in Korea!

-2 Kings 11: We should view this as simply the standard coronation ritual for Kings of Judah, and not as something completely unique to Jehoash, right?

-We need to keep an eye on how these coronations function in the Bible. We’ll be seeing a mighty One quite like it, in the future, soon.

-At the restaurant. I saw a young man wearing a cross and with a print “Interpreter’s Bible,” hard at work on a laptop on something. I worked up the courage to say hello to this stranger. After that, I realized that he had headphones on, so I probably shouldn’t be interrupting. Alas.

-I’m a Christian immigrant to East Asia, but I really don’t remind myself of Tidus. For one, (cut) is clearly way more Christian than (cut) was.

-That Mirror’s Edge Minecraft video that I saw.
