-WWE does these series of Triple Threat matches as qualifiers for bigger matches, and those Triple Threat matches are my favorite matches of the year from them, honestly. Rhea Ripley was just in one. Bea Priestley’s final match in WWE was one. I like watching the qualifiers more than what the matches that qualify the wrestlers for. They’re my WrestleMania.
-Quite exhausted this morning. No lengthy morning prayer. But I managed to get out of bed, at least.
-Read to Page 100 in James Monroe: A Life by Tim McGrath.
-There are Dragon Ball Z action figures everywhere in the office today.
-Happy Power Stone Day!
-A student in the hallway walked directly up to me, pointed at my cross necklace, and made a cross symbol with two fingers of his.
-I led a new class today. It was a new experience. I sort of messed up a few things, and (cut) helped me out. I feel guilty. But I learned, today.
-11:44 AM: Looks like the campus will be throwing a bit of a party for us teachers, before Seollal.
-Talked to (cut) about my still not dead plan to travel to Busan for Seollal. She recommended that I visit a Gwangalli Beach.
-A really nice conversation with someone during (cut). We talked about religion, and the local church, and I showed him my picture of me and the Pope. I’m really looking forward to talking to him again. There’s a lot new that I am willing to bring up.
-1:15 PM: Overate at lunch again, unfortunately.
-I wonder what Ahmed the Clock Boy is up to nowadays.
-40 percent done with Martin Luther: A Very Short Introduction by Scott H. Hendrix.
-My coworkers were making fun of (cut) behind his back, who apparently brings up that his girlfriend is Chinese too much.
-They threw us all a big pizza party this afternoon at work for Seollal. I overate.
-I left early. Back to the office. (cut) was the only one who didn’t go to the party.
-5:30 PM: I just reached the Plus plan limit in ChatGPT right now. Reminds of the days when I would hit that all the time.
-Really, really tired this afternoon.
-Alas, I still didn’t start the PowerPoint, but I did lay out something of a framework for doing it now, and I think that’s a good start.
-Kinyarwanda is not the language I was expecting to be learning when arriving here, by the way.
-(cut) asked me how I was feeling at the end of the work week. I tried to sarcastically downplay it with a straight face and saying “What, I don’t look excited that it’s all over?” but I end up smiling big unconsciously while saying that anyway and she gives me a big smile back.
-I made it to the Seollal weekend!
-The burger place in walking distance that (cut) recommended to me.
-What an anomaly: The song I was listening to ended just as I entered the mail room.

-Honestly, the only reason to actually make a new Castlevania Metroidvania in 2026 given the absolute avalanche of decent to great Metroidvanias that have been dropped on Steam over the last decade is to just fill it to the brim with dorky in-references to the older games, and I am so ready for that.
